My friends from Berklee wanted to do a cover of a Korean pop song “After Work” (퇴근시간). Grace (the vocalist) also wanted to shoot a video, so Peter (guitarist) setup his camera and we recorded them.
Grace wanted to do an outdoor shoot, so we set everything up in the porch and did it!
I used MBox Pro with Pro Tools to record. It was a very simple setup: 1 vox, 1 guitar, and 1 reverb.
My neighborhood is really quiet. She wanted more outdoor noise in the background, so we ended up adding some more bird noises, winds, etc.
I doubled the guitar and hard panned them left and right, so that the vocal in the middle can stand out more…
